How to rotate an image

How do I rotate an image by a custom angle?

How do I rotate an image by 90 or 180 degrees?
Click Right to rotate 90° clockwise, or Left to rotate 90° counterclockwise. Click twice to rotate the image by 180° and turn it upside down.
What happens to the corners when I rotate by an angle that is not 90°?
The image is placed inside a larger rectangle so nothing is cropped. The empty corners are transparent in PNG and WEBP, and filled with white in JPG, which does not support transparency.
Why is my photo sideways?
Phones save the orientation of a photo as hidden information instead of rotating the pixels. Some apps and websites ignore it and show the photo sideways. Rotating it here saves the pixels in the right direction, so it displays correctly everywhere.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
